Food and Drinks
The restaurant has two vaulted rooms, with elaborate chandeliers hanging from the centre of each. The furniture fabric is a deep, comfortable red and goes well with the paintings and frescos that adorn the walls. This vibrant mix of colours gives the restaurant a grotto like feel, for the effect is warm and romantic.
The cuisine is a good choice of traditional Czech and International dishes, including venison, duck, fish, roast pork, goulash and a variety of tender steaks.
For entertainment, 7 Angels is the main Gypsy music restaurant in the centre of Prague. A live Gypsy band entertains Wednesday to Sunday evenings.

Client's reviews
If you dont stay here you are missing out! Very olde world pension - check out their website photos. Great location - in a narrow street with lots of life - a few minutes from old town square, Charles Bridge, restaurants. Great breakfast. Couldnt complain about anything. Discount if you pay with cash.
My husband I stayed at the Residence 7 Angels for the second time this past Sept. We booked the Terrazza room which is lovely and extremely spacious with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the inner courtyard, and beautiful frescoes on the walls. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight out of Paris, and the staff stayed past closing to see us to our room. We ate at the restaurant one night, and had one of our best meals in Prague. I fondly remember the tender trout with plum sauce, the great wine and the fun tableside serenade by the local musicians. Breakfast is served in the restaurant as well, and the setting is just beautiful with lots of old world ambience. The 7 Angels is just off the main square and within easy walking distance of the Charles Bridge and all the sites and museums in Prague. We highly recommend the Residence 7 Angels, and will return whenever we are in Prague.
This place is near everything, just a few minutes off Old Town Square. It is on a small street so there are few cars and the walking trafrfic slows down as the evening progresses. If you can get the Terrace room on the top floor. It is HUGE and must have formerly been the sun porch. It is glass on the roof (shades) and one entire wall( with drapes). The bathroom is large, as is the main room itself with the bed, sitting area, and table. It is a walk up with lots of stairs and two gates to unlock. You get a big hot breakfast served in the restaurant. At friends' suggestion we ate dinner in the restaurant one night and didn't enjoy it (we are not fond of Czech food we discovered). You get a substantial discount if you pay in cash and so it is a good idea to plan to do so.
My husband and I (retired) have just returned from a 4 day stay at 7 Angels. Could'nt have found a better location.Steps from all the main sights. Although hotel is very old it is full of character, our junior suite was huge and we also got four nights for three. Staff were very friendly and the nice surprise was we got a cooked breakfast. Our flight home was early morning and a packed food bag was prepared for us. We would stay here again.
I am writing to thank you for recommending the 7 Angels hotel for our recent visit to Prague. It was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. It is in such a good location and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We very much enjoyed our little break.
Booked this hotel after much surfing on several web sites, including this one. It is small, with very small rooms and even smaller bathrooms, there is no parking that I could find and non of the large chain hotel facilities, but unless you are a 400lb American, that normally lives in Hiltons, who cares! It's location is spot on, you cannot get more central for the price that they charge. Prague is small, you can walk accross the city in 15 minutes and get to all the major attractions on foot, this hotel is right in the middle of it. There is a good looking resturant attached to the hotel, but we did not use it. Breakfast is adequate and cooked to order, be prepared for a short wait, but who wants to rush on holiday. The coffee is powerful stuff and wakes you up good and proper. Our room was up several flights of stairs and at the back of a court yard, difficult to get to if you were infirmed or had masses of luggage, but on the plus side, it was as quiet as a grave, not what we expected in a major city. I would book this hotel again.
I stayed here for 3 nights in December with my husband and 2 teenagers. It was our first stop on our trip having come all the way from Sydney. We lOVED Prague - it's such a lovely and interesting place - and so old - unlike Sydney! Although I booked the 7 Angels from this site I didn't realise it was a hostel and that the reception was in the restaurant. I booked it because it was really old and that appealed to me. Normally I would have booked a hotel. I'm really glad we stayed here as we really enjoyed it. We had a lovely big 2 room apartment with big windows overlooking the street and a kitchen. There was a washing machine and dryer. The furniture in the main bedroom was lovely and old and the bed was enormous. It was really good value for 4 of us and to have so much space was fantastic. The entrance area up to the apartments was charming. On the first night the shower head broke and water went everywhere. (it was a nice big bathroom) Someone came up to clean it all up immediately and the shower head was replaced. We had dinner in the lovely restaurant which i really recommend (although we had dreadful jetlag after our 22 hour flight and drive from Frankfurt). They had a band playing which was really fun. The location is the best thing - you walk out the door and you're in the middle of everything - shops, lovely cobbled streets and seconds from Old Town Square. The walk to anywhere - Charles Bridge, Wencesles square is very close. It's all so divine! The staff were great - very helpful - although we couldn't speak Czech and they couldn't speak English - but we all managed - and with lots of smiles! The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfasts great - with breads, spreads etc and choice of eggs done anyway. Parking was close by. The only problem we had was finding 7 Angels - with all the pedestrian zones and one ways (and driving on the WRONG side of the road!!!) but I'm very happy we did find it as it was great and also very clean. One cafe I'd recommend is the Cafe Slavia which is on the river opposite the National Theatre. (not museum). It was recommended by a Prague born Sydneysider and had the best hot chocolates as well as a large menu and really reasonable.
My partner and I would just like to thank you you for all your help and advice. Your suggestion of the 7 Angels Hotel was brilliant! We had a lovely, big room (well rooms!), it was very central with being just around the corner from the Old Town Square, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for such a fantastic hotel!! We had a fabulous stay in Prague and the Hotel of 7 Angels was a total delight. We will definately be coming back and would not even think of staying anywhere else!
A couple of girlfriends and I came across this hotel on our overnight trip to Prague from Berlin. We hadn't expected to stay there, all of us being on a tight budget. We'd wanted to stay at the hostel in town, but had unexpectantly encountered rather blatant racism. The woman who ran the hostel wouldn't buzz us in to allow us to come into the hostel! She was so disagreeable, that we decided we needed to find accommodations elsewhere. (All three of us girls had been of different races – Asian, White and Black. People of color should take note. Sadly, this was not an uncommon theme throughout our stay in Prague) We went from hotel to hotel, trying to find something reasonable. Perhaps there was something in the air, maybe in the water, but everywhere we went (even the tourist center!) no one seemed interested in showing anything other than the barest of courtesies. This, frankly, had been the first time I'd ever come across this kind of treatment. It took me a while to recognize it as racism and then, upon realization, had become somewhat overwhelmed by it. But when we walked into the Seven Angels, it was like night and day. They were very kind and accommodating; showed us a large beautiful room in which all three of us could stay. Our room on the second/third floor overlooked the narrow street and one morning, looking outside my bedroom window, it felt as though I was in a different century with the shopkeepers, cobblestone streets and early deliveries being made below. I don't know the history of the building (wish I did), but despite the extensive renovations, it felt old --old enough to imagine that the ghosts of previous occupants still roamed the hallways. The hotel is in an excellent location and you can walk across to most of all the interesting bits of Prague on foot from there (get a good map and you won't need to use the unfriendly taxis). It's not full service (bring your own toiletries) and a little pricey as others have lamented, but if you don't need to be waited on hand and foot, it's a treat. The room we had came with high ceilings, large LCD flat screen TV, a well-furnished sitting room, lots of closet space, a mini kitchen (excellent for week-long stays) which we accidentally discovered hiding behind a curtain; and a large bathroom. We had a bit of a problem with the hot water in the morning, but the staff promptly fixed the problem. Honestly, just the feel of the place is worth it. Much better than a chain hotel and one of the very few good memories I'll have of Prague. If, by some chance, I were to go back to Prague, I'd definitely choose to stay at the Seven Angels again.
Thank you very much indeed for arranging our holiday for us. All the bookings were excellent from the taxi to the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the 7 Angels Hotel - had a good welcome even at a very busy evening dinner time. Their accommodation and meals in the restaurant were first class. We have no hesitation in recommending your services to our friends.
Stayed at the 7 Angels for a long September weekend. The hotel is just 30 seconds walk from Prague's Old Town Square which is probably the most central tourist attraction in the city. The Charles Bridge is about 10 minutes and Wenceslas Square the same distance in the other direction. There are small shops and several bars and restaurants all around the hotel. Other reviews have suggested that this hotel is more like appartments and I would definitely agree - there is no reception for the hotel and everything is sorted by the restaurant next door. Our room was on the bottom floor and looked out onto a small alley / courtyard directly across from the restaurant kitchen. Although there was no problem with noise or smell, the room was very dark even with the curtains fully open. The room was large with a good sized comfortable bed and satellite TV. Overall I liked the hotel although the price is more reflective of the superb location than for the hotel standard (slightly above average room) but this would not stop me from staying here again as I would gladly swap stars for location any day. Staff at the restaurant were very accommodating and friendly especially on our last day when we needed somewhere to store our bags. We didn't eat there but it looked very nice (it was always full, so that's a good sign).
Everything went perfectly for our Prague trip, the Hotel 7 Angels was an excellent Location, and the suites were superb.I highly commend your Taxi drivers, especially the driver who picked us up from the Airport.I shall definately use Travelcook again.I have inserted a link for you,to Tripadvisor.com,where I have submitted a review.
The 7 Angels is one of the most centrally located places I have ever stayed at.4 of us stayed here(two couples),at the start of July for 4 nights,to celebrate our wedding anniversaries, and booked 2 Suites through Travelcook. The suites were simply "HUGE" and spotless, with a large bathroom, bedroom, and Kitchen/Living room, all with high ceilings and chandeliers. Not quite sure what the other rooms are like, but the Suites are simply fantastic!!.Kettles and Microwaves were supplied in the suites but bring your own teabags, coffee and sugar. We had a meal in the Restaurant,as it is highly rated on other sites, and I recommend anyone to try it as a Must!!.(Guests get 15%off menu price). We found the staff very helpful with anything we asked of them, and they must be commended.Maids called to the room every day to clean and change towels. As somebody mentioned below,it does not seem like an Hotel, more like smart Apartments in an Historic building, and I will recommend to all my friends the Hotel 7 Angels. Point of note: The Old Town is like a maze, and is easy to get lost after a few bevvies,so be sure to get your bearings on your first day. :-)
My mother and I just returned from Prague where we spent one week over the end of May/beginning of June. Overall we were very happy with the 7 Angels. The best thing is the location, which can hardly be beat. From the hotel we walked everywhere we wanted to go in the city and often returned to our room during the day to regroup for the next activity. In tourist-packed Prague, it was really nice to have a convenient haven to duck into whenever it suited us. We were given a suite, which was huge (the size of a one bedroom apartment). The space was nice, and big, but the beds were not in great shape, and one was small. One downside -- our room was often loud. Most nights we first got noise from the hotel/restaurant interior at closing time (sounded like the staff were dragging crates of bottles around in the tile lobby and hallway) and then from the street when the bars let out and the crowd passed by the hotel. The latter may be an unavoidable tradeoff for the great location and common for a lot of hotels in the Old Town area. Though it wasn't ideal, it was not a big deal to us. Although we weren't always able to communicate with the staff in English perfectly, the staff were helpful when we needed something such as arranging a cab to the airport at 6am, givng us shampoo (not provided routinely by the hotel!!), or when we wanted something for breakfast besides eggs/ham or ham/eggs (they provided alternatives when we asked for specific things -- important since we were there for a week). Overall, the hotel worked very well and we were satisfied. The excellent location more than made up for the several mostly small things that seemed off from our US and Western European frame of reference. Note: At the 7 Angels, we felt more like we had rented an apartment in Prague more than that we were staying at a full-service hotel.
I stayed here with my husband and daughter at the end of November 2004. We found it comfortable, warm and quiet and wonderfully central - a couple of minutes from Old Town Square, five minutes from Charles Bridge and about the same from the nearest metro station. Our "suite" (double room, sitting room with single bed, bath/shower and separate WC) overlooked a central courtyard, and, if the temperature had been somewhat higher we could have sat outside on our own balcony. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant, but the cooking smelled good and our Czech friends said it had a good reputation. Breakfast was generous, and on one morning when we wanted breakfast before the staff arrived we were given enormous sandwiches and loads of fruit the night before so that we could have a picnic in our rooms. So - a nice place to be, helpful staff, a good night's sleep. very highly recommended.
I am just writing to thank you for the bookings we made with you for our recent trip to Prague. Everything went very smoothly, the taxis were prompt and the hotel was very nice, especially the restaurant of course! We will certainly recommend you and use you for any future visits to your beautiful city.
Visited this hotel in May 2004 with a group of friends. Although the hotel is small it is bursting with Character, all the rooms are different, unfortunately though they are not all up to the same standard - would recommend getting a suite though, as the 3 of those I saw were all great. The location of this hotel is perfect too - 2 minutes walk from the Old Town square, and 5 minutes walk from both Charles Bridge and Wencleslas Square. Breakfast is included in the price and is plentiful, however I missed a cup of english tea in the mornings. Prague itsself is fantastic, very relaxed. We have already got our next trip orgainsed, including going back to this hotel.
We just want to thank you very, very much for all help in our planning of our trip to Prague!! We are so greatful, and we really had a wonderful, wonderful time in the lovely city!! The hotel was perfect, the taxidriver took us from the air-port to the hotel and back, no problems, the guide was so professional. All of us had a really perfect time!! Nothing went wrong, and we will be back :) We will recommand TravelCook to our friends!!
We want to thank you for a unforgettable giudet tour in Praque. The guide we had was extremly competent for her duty. She gave us several tips for further actions in Praque. That included conserts, shoping, what we should watch out for etc. Further on she also is a very friendly and social person. The guided tour was really worth its price and if we return to Praque and want to have a guided tour to some other parts of the city or in the surrondings of Praque we definitively want to have the same guide. Unfortunately both Marita and I have forgotten her name so we would be very thankfull if you could communicate that to us so we know who to ask for the next time. All in all we had a wonderful trip to your beautifull capital city and the guided tour definitively contributet to the sucess of our trip.
